Los Angeles Auto Show 2018 Preview

At the first LA Auto Show there were 99 cars on display, and if you were lucky you might have mingled with Henry Ford, or Barney Oldfield. The auto show was not responsible for putting LA on the automobile ‘map’ however it was responsible for helping LA take the lead in the automotive industry. The event had to be extended, as more people needed to be accommodated for, as the event became a catalyst in the advancement of what normal was. The show allowed people to understand that because of the transportation advancements that were beginning to take place, they could now live in the country and commute to the city for work. LA had became “the banner automobile city of the world” in 1907, and the LA Auto Show played a huge role in making that happen.

Over a hundred years have passed since 1907 and the LA Auto Show is still living up to its reputation. As LA is the largest car buying market in the United States it is worth noting that not only does the LA Auto Show have the power to drive car sales and trends, they have the power to support positive changes within the automotive industry, hence why they have extended the show to include Automobility LA – an event where the future of the automotive industry is discussed, the latest improvements revealed and newest vehicles unveiled.

‘As the automotive industry shifts toward electric and alternative fuel powertrains, this year’s AutoMobility LA will showcase new technologies to further its commitment to autonomy, connectivity, electrification, and sharing.
