Having recently completed the momentous achievement of winning Le Mans 24 Hours for the second year running, the TOYOTA GAZOO racing team has been sharing the celebrations with fans internationally through StoryStream content.
As one of the most exciting events in 2019 motorsport unfolded over a special week, the GAZOO racing team deployed a real-time multi channel content strategy to bring their followers into the centre of the action.
At the track, the TOYOTA fanzone offered attendees an immersive experience as digital screens provided updates combining social and brand content covering the team’s progress and commentary lap by lap. Simultaneously, Storyboards embedded across 13 international websites offered fans across the globe those same insights regardless of location, acting as a live feed directly to the trackside action.
Critically for the TOYOTA GAZOO racing team, from the moment their TS050 cars crossed the finish line in positions 1 and 2, the team was able to instantly update global website content from displaying live race insights, to showcasing team wide celebrations. Within minutes of victory, fans flooded to their relevant country website to find real-time messages from the winning team waiting for them.
The ability to provide fresh content to capture that first surge of audience excitement saw content engagement increase by an incredible 300% following the announcement of the team’s victory, with more than 5200 fans showing deep engagement with the Storyboard content in the first few weeks following LeMans 24 Hours alone.
